Animatronic Characters, Moving and Talking Figures, and Turnkey Dinosaur Parks and Zoos

Blending advanced mechatronics, fluid robotic kinetics and hyper-realistic sculpture, MiniatureArt designs and manufactures heavy-duty animatronic figures, talking historical exhibits and full-scale prehistoric attractions. Built specifically to withstand intense public interaction and harsh outdoor conditions, our animatronics offer municipalities, entertainment centres and museums reliable, turnkey, crowd-pulling solutions.

What is animatronics, and how do moving figures work?

Animatronics is a system that brings a character’s sculpted body to life through mechanical movement and electronic control. Head, eye, mouth, arm or body movements can be planned together with sound recordings, lighting and visitor interaction. Different characters, such as a talking tree, a moving animal, a fairy tale hero or a historical figure, are designed according to the story to be told.

From fairy tale worlds like Efteling to original characters

For park investors studying story-driven areas such as Efteling’s fairy tale forest, what a character says, how it moves and how it relates to its surroundings matter as much as its appearance. MiniatureArt can develop moving and talking figures based on your own fairy tale, regional legend or park mascot. We handle the scene, the character and visitor interaction within a single design.

Our fairy tale park projects and our gallery of character sculptures show how figures can take their place in a park’s story.

Modular, Cost-Effective and Durable Animatronics for Municipalities

  • “The Wise Old Frog and Friends” Character Series: Designed for rapid installation in municipal parks, this animatronic collection delivers high-impact storytelling on an accessible budget. Built with robust internal steel mechanisms, weatherproofed electronics and impact-resistant exteriors, these fairy tale characters require minimal maintenance and withstand heavy public use.

  • Interactive “Talking Tree” Icon: A favourite for public botanical gardens and children’s recreation areas. It features synchronized mouth, eye and branch movements, multilingual automatic audio triggers, integrated ambient sound and durable composite bark textures designed for every season.

  • Expanding Wildlife and Creature Workshop: Beyond our standard collection, our workshop develops custom-designed animatronic animals (forest wildlife, aquatic creatures, exotic predators and mythical monsters) with true-to-life skeletal movement, pneumatic/servo drives and authentically textured skins.

Museums, dinosaur parks and waterpark themes

In history museums, a talking figure can recount an era directly to the visitor. In natural history museums and dinosaur parks, movement, sound and anatomical appearance are considered together. In hotel, family entertainment centre and waterpark projects, an original mascot or themed animal can become part of the entrance and photo areas. Contact with water, outdoor placement and daily operating hours are planned for each project.

You can explore related applications on our museum and diorama production and waterpark figures pages.

What information is needed for an animatronic figure project?

A drawing or reference image of the character, its approximate size, the desired movements, the language of the audio, the layout plan and the target delivery date can be shared for an initial assessment. Whether it is activated by a sensor, a button or a timed programme, as well as the daily show duration and maintenance access, are also defined at the start of the design. Share your moving figure project with us.

Hyper-Realistic Moving and Talking Figures (Madame Tussauds Standards)

  • Talking Historical Icons (e.g. the Mimar Sinan Animatronic): We produce lifelike historical figures with masterfully sculpted facial details, medical-grade silicone skin, authentic period costumes and micro-servo-driven facial expressions synchronized with dynamic acoustic narration.

  • Automated Wax and Historical Panorama Exhibits: We transform traditional wax museum displays into living, moving historical dioramas. The figures perform breathing cycles, head turns, arm movements and interactive dialogue triggered by visitor proximity sensors.
