1:25 scale miniatures and moving models

Royal Heritage and Record-Breaking Success
Madurodam was opened in 1952 by Princess (later Queen) Beatrix and has a truly long-standing royal history.
In 2012 the park underwent a huge transformation and modernization, and we were honoured to be part of this new era. The park was once again opened by Queen Beatrix. Driven by improved, ultra-realistic miniatures and new interactive elements, the 2012 reopening shattered all previous attendance records, attracting an astonishing 1.05 million visitors in a single year. This milestone proved that the combination of royal heritage and the latest miniature craftsmanship is a unique recipe for success.

A Partnership Built on Trust (2002 – Present)
Having produced its miniatures in-house for half a century, Madurodam chose to work with MiniatureArt for external model production for the first time in its history. This collaboration, which began in 2002, has continued with new projects for more than twenty years. Our work for the Rotterdam area in 2025 was one of the latest examples of this long-standing partnership.
Since 2002, we have been producing and delivering detailed miniature models for the park. Today the park has nearly 500 miniatures, and our production work contributes to the development of this collection.

At Madurodam, everything is in motion. We are talking about extremely complex dynamic systems:
Moving Transport: Aircraft taxiing on runways, cars cruising smoothly along motorways and ships sailing through waterways.
Animated Figures: Even the miniature people are designed to move, bringing city squares and concert venues to life.
Advanced Railway Networks: The miniature train system is so extensive, complex and technologically advanced that it requires a dedicated SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) control room to monitor and operate it.
