Panorama Konya Museum: Immersive 360° Panorama, Dioramas and the World’s Mevlevi Lodges
The Panorama Konya Museum stands in the historic heart of Konya. It is a monumental cultural project realised in 2017 with Konya Metropolitan Municipality. Its master planning, structural planning and artistic execution were carried out entirely from scratch by MiniatureArt. The museum complex captures the life of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi and the vibrant social fabric of 13th-century Konya through scale modelling, panoramic art and hyper-realistic wax sculptures. All Panorama Konya Museum dioramas and Mevlevi lodge models were produced in our own workshop.
The Courtyard: The World’s Surviving Mevlevi Lodges
The open-air courtyard is a tribute to the global Mevlevi (Sufi) heritage. It brings together models of Mevlevi lodges (Mevlevihane) on three continents:
Global Heritage Representation. The museum includes scaled lodges from Cairo, Damascus, Plovdiv, Nicosia (Cyprus), Kilis, Afyon, Kütahya and Eskişehir. It also shows Antalya, Tokat, Istanbul, Gelibolu, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Edirne, İzmir and Ankara. At the centre stands the Mevlana Lodge (Museum).
Record 4-Month Production Time: Each lodge demanded meticulous historical fidelity and masonry detail. Even so, MiniatureArt designed, cast and installed every exterior model in a record 4 months.
Panorama Konya Museum Dioramas and the 360° Circular Panorama
Beyond the open-air courtyard, the museum transitions into a fully immersive indoor diorama environment focused on 13th-century Seljuk Konya:
Seamless 360-Degree Panorama: More than a full year of intensive artistic production went into building the vast circular panoramic hall. The installation creates a complete, uninterrupted visual horizon depicting historic Konya, its ancient walls, trade caravans and daily street life.
Flawless Diorama Integration: Curved 2D background paintings merge with the 3D foreground: mud-brick houses, adobe textures, market stalls and water channels.
Life-Size and Miniature Wax Figures: The diorama also features miniature figurines and 1:1 wax figures of Mevlana, his disciples, whirling dervishes and Seljuk-era craftsmen. Each figure is sculpted with anatomical precision, historical costume and emotional realism.

Panorama Konya is one of the finest examples of our multidisciplinary cultural work, from concept to opening:
- Spatial Architecture and Lighting. We designed complete spatial unity and gallery flows. In addition, striking lighting and display environments draw visitors into the diorama.
- Material Longevity: For the outdoor courtyard, we used UV-resistant composites and automotive-grade paints. Indoors, we used conservation-grade wax and polymer blends.

Museum Dioramas and Historical Life Reconstructions
At Panorama Konya, architectural models, figures, a three-dimensional foreground and panoramic painting complete the same historical narrative. In a new museum exhibition, we plan the period, viewing point, figure scale and scene depth together with the space and lighting.
