What does theme park master planning determine?
The master plan brings together the park’s story, the structures to be exhibited, the visitor route and the operational areas within a single layout. Entrance, ticketing, rest areas, food and beverage, technical service and maintenance access are considered together with the themed areas. Outdoor or indoor use, site conditions and the target visitor group influence design decisions.
Miniature park, fairy tale park and museum concepts
Miniature park examples such as France Miniature, Babbacombe Model Village and Tobu World Square show how the architectural heritage of a region or of the world can be told along a visitor route. In fairy tale worlds like Efteling, characters, buildings and scenes are parts of a story. Building a new park or developing an existing site
The budget of a new theme park is prepared together with the site, the number of models and figures, production sizes, infrastructure, automation and the implementation scope. In an existing park, the current layout is evaluated in order to add a new themed zone, visitor route or exhibition collection. For themed entrances of hotels and waterparks, waterpark figures can also be part of the concept.
