Al Shaheed Park: Preserving Kuwait’s Heritage for the Amiri Diwan
Situated in the heart of Kuwait City, Al Shaheed Park is Kuwait’s largest and most significant urban park—spanning over 200,000 m² of botanical gardens, walking tracks, lakes, and two cultural institutions: the Thekra and Habitat museums.
Commissioned directly by the Amiri Diwan of Kuwait and executed under the supervision of renowned Kuwaiti architect Khaled Bin Sarhi, Miniature Art was entrusted with designing, engineering, and manufacturing the park’s central historical miniature showcase. This specialized zone documents the architectural, urban, and social evolution of Kuwait in magnificent detail.
Old Kuwait City Reborn at 1:20 Scale
Unlike conventional 1:25 exhibitions, the historical district in Al Shaheed Park was produced at an expansive 1:20 scale, allowing for an unprecedented level of micro-detail across Kuwait’s pre-oil and early modern heritage:
317 Waterfront Residential Structures: To recreate the authentic urban fabric of pre-modern Kuwait, we manufactured 317 individual traditional residences and installed them along the miniature water’s edge, faithfully reflecting the historic coastal settlement on the Arabian Gulf.
Iconic Historical Palaces: Masterful scale reproductions of Seif Palace (Al-Seif) and the historic Red Palace (Al-Qasr Al-Ahmar), capturing their authentic clay-brick textures, battlements, and timber detailing.
The Four Gates & Fortified City Walls: Complete structural recreation of historic Kuwait’s defensive perimeter, including its four legendary city gates (Bawwabat).
Traditional Souqs, Schools & Mosques: Meticulously detailed marketplaces, religious minarets, and early civic schools, immortalizing daily Kuwaiti life.
Modern Kuwait & 3D Projection Mapping Innovation
Contrasting the historic quarter, the park features a dedicated modern sector showcasing 15 contemporary Kuwaiti landmarks:
Pristine Minimalist Monoliths: These 15 modern architectural models were engineered with seamless, ultra-smooth white surfaces intentionally free of surface color.
Dynamic 3D Video Mapping Canvas: Engineered specifically as high-precision projection canvases, these models serve as interactive multimedia installations where evening light shows and 3D architectural mapping project dynamic animations onto the white architectural forms.
