Professional Architectural Models & Scale Model Production | MiniatureArt
MiniatureArt produces professional architectural scale models (architectural models) for architectural firms and real estate developers. Residential projects, shopping centres, mixed-use buildings and master plans are presented in three dimensions with building details, landscaping and optional lighting. Production takes place at our 4,500 m² facility in Istanbul.
Types of professional architectural scale models for your project
- Residential and sales office models: Show the layout, façades and common areas of the buildings together.
- Shopping centre and mixed-use project models: Make the relationship between commercial buildings, residences and open spaces easy to understand.
- Master plan and urban planning models: Present large project areas, transport connections and building groups as a whole.
- Illuminated and automated models: Depending on the project, lighting, moving elements and tablet-controlled presentation options are considered. You can see examples in our automated model videos.
Choosing scale and detail in an architectural model
The scale is determined by the size of the project, the exhibition space and the details to be shown. Our gallery includes work at different scales such as 1:50, 1:100, 1:200 and 1:1000. For example, at 1:100 scale, a 10-metre section of the real building becomes 10 centimetres in the model. Building, landscape and surrounding details are prepared together according to this scale.
We describe the process we follow, from preparing the drawings to production and assembly, on our how is an architectural model made? page. You can find our general explanations about materials and production methods in this guide.
Architectural models for restoration projects and museums
Survey, restitution and restoration models can be prepared to show the current condition of a historic building, its appearance in the past or a proposed restoration. For models of mosques, palaces, madrasas, castles and ancient structures, the scale is chosen so that both the building as a whole and the details to be shown in the exhibition are visible.
In museums, building models help visitors understand the plan and spatial relationships. You can explore our museum and archaeological exhibition work and our gallery of historic monument models.
Project models, city models and interactive presentation
A building model explains a single building, while a city or master plan model explains how buildings relate to their surroundings. Needs such as highlighting selected blocks with lighting in a sales office, showing different periods of a building in a museum or using moving vehicles in a miniature topography are addressed at the start of the design. Models for miniature parks and townscapes can be produced within a complete exhibition plan.
What is needed for an architectural model quotation?
Project drawings or 3D files, the intended use of the model, the allocated exhibition space and the target delivery date are needed for an initial assessment. The price of a model is determined by scale, size, level of detail, lighting and automation scope. We also plan packaging, shipping and installation requirements specifically for each project.
